Based on the H.G. Wells classic of the same name, this puzzle depicts Martian invaders wreaking havoc with their horrendous heat-rays as a farmer looks on with a mixture of fear and fascination. It was revived when Orson Wells caused panic amongst listerners during his infamous radio broadcast of the tale. Rodney Matthews, the world famous fantasy artist, gives us the War of the Worlds as those listeners must have imagined it. Matthews has worked as a freelance illustrator of fantasy and science since 1970. In the '70's he painted record album covers for rock groups as well as many book covers. More than eighty of his illustrations have been published for posters and calendars. More recently, Matthews has been in demand by computer game developers and children's television shows. The puzzle is packed in a box that looks like a book and its 500 pieces create a circular image 20 in diameter.
